Who am I?
I've been taking voice lessons since I was 15, ranging from classical, operatic, and musical theatre with a sprinkling of contemporary vocal styles intermixed. Learning to sing has given me the opportunity to perform in operas, choirs, small ensembles, and musical theatre productions. I've absolutely loved it! And I want to help you love it too.
What to expect?
In my studio, we get comfortable with hearing ourselves be recorded early on. There is no better method for improvement than to just bite the bullet and hear what you sound like. Every lesson will have a recording done and sent to the student for review. There is also no tolerance for shame in my studio. When shame comes in, we send it packing. Every voice is a good voice. Here, we embrace our natural voices as we seek to answer the profound question: What is my voice capable of becoming?
We'll explore good breath support, artistic phrasing, proper vowel placement, uncover the chest voice, head voice, and mixed voices, and learn how to sing free from tension with a forward bright sound that will translate across classic, musical theatre, and commercial style singing.
